“Paul Makovsky was today named editor in chief of Contract magazine, the leading publication for commercial interior design and architecture for nearly 60 years. In his new role, Makovsky will oversee all content development and editorial production for Contract’s print and digital platforms, as well as its growing events business, including the annual Contract Interiors Awards in New York, which will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2019, and Contract Design Forum taking place October 2018—a two-day summit bringing together the industry’s leaders to discuss and debate the current state of the industry. Makovsky will also play a crucial role in the development of contract programming and strategy for ICFF—North America’s preeminent global design fair, produced and owned by Contract’s parent company, Emerald Expositions.’

“Makovsky arrives at Contract having spent the last 18 years at Metropolis magazine, where he had several senior editorial roles, including editorial and brand director. There he worked on a complete redesign of the magazine in 2014, and most recently was vice president of design, overseeing the launch of a new supplement on multi-housing, and most recently, the publication of the sixth edition of the official guide to NYCxDESIGN.”
