Top models Gisele Bundchen, Dakota Johnson, Naomi Campbell and others as well as the best fashion designers of the world walked on a green carpet at the Green Fashion Awards in the iconic La Scala Opera House in Milan. Also in attendance were Giorgio Armani, Miuccia Prada and Anna Wintour, the director of Vogue.

Giulio Bonazzi, President and CEO of Aquafil, proudly explains: “ECONYL® raw materials are discarded fish nets from Norway, Scotland and the Philippines, old carpets from the USA, textile waste from Italy and China and otherwise unusable plastic scraps.” The world of fashion has been very intrigued by the ECONYL® message. Bonazzi adds, “We have signed 170 licensing agreements with fashion brands such as Stella McCartney, Adidas, Levis, Gucci, Speedo, Volcom and many others.”

Aquafil’s largest consumers of ECONYL® fibers are commercial carpet mills. However, the automotive industry, especially in the hybrid and full electric categories, as well as trend-setter fashion brands have embraced the powerful “circular economy” message of ECONYL® fibers.
